Five North Union FFA Members Receive American FFA Degrees

Five FFA members received the coveted American FFA Degree at the 78th National FFA convention. The American FFA Degree is the highest level that can be achieved as an FFA member. This final step in the FFA Degree system encourages students to grow and achieve personally toward establishing themselves in an agricultural career. Attaining the American FFA Degree requires a solid commitment to agriculture and FFA. To earn the degree, the members had to at least earn or invest 7500 dollars from there Supervised Agricultural Experience projects and be actively involved in their local FFA program. The members also had to meet 30 other state and national requirements to qualify. Less than one in 200 FFA Members advance through their local chapters and state FFA degree programs to earn the American FFA Degree. The FFA members were Josh Sheets, Michael McMahan, Tyler Springer, Talyn Powers and Hannah Monroe. This year alone on a ½ of a percent of the 490,000+ FFA members nationwide received the degree. They also become only the 24th, 25th, 26th, 27th and 28th North Union FFA members to receive this degree.
