North Union FFA has Success at District Six FFA Speaking The North Union FFA competed in the District Six FFA Public Speaking Contest held at Southeastern High School on March 1st 2006. The participants were Harley Jerew in the Creed, Tara Zasadzinski in Senior Prepared and Tyler Patton in Extemporaneous. Harley Jerew presented the FFA Creed and placed third. The Creed contest has students memorize and recite the FFA Creed and answer three to five questions on its meaning and its relationship to our life. Tara Zasadzinski presented her speech on Horse Hippotherapy and placed second. The Senior Prepared Contest has FFA members write, research, and memorize a six to eight minute speech. Tyler Patton presented his topic of "Changes in Biotechnology and its place in Agriculture Education” and placed second. The Extemporaneous Contest has students draw a topic once they arrive at the site; then they have 30 minutes to prepare a 4-6 minute speech on that topic. Tara and Tyler will go on and represent North Union at the State FFA Speaking Contest March 18th held at the The Ohio State University. |
